SELF is Denise Marsa's debut solo release, which she funded, produced, and self-released in 1998 on her own label KeyMedia Group/KeyMedia Music Group. The highly acclaimed album was digitally re-released in 2011 with a different cover.

The album was recorded on analog 2 inch and mastered digitally. Recorded in guitarists Bruce Bouillet's (Racer X) Van Nuys, CA studio. Features Eric Gorfain's (Section Quartet) first string arrangement with keys by Jon Ernst and a few other notable players. Door of studio was taken off to fit the Hammond B3 through the door! newcomer British guitarist Samir Varma plays all guitars except Bruce played the acoustic solo on IN A MATTER OF MOMENTS. With Richard Diamond and David Chamberlain as the rhythm section.
